The Local Outreach portion of the Endowment Fund supports missions and ministries in the Trinity community and in the immediate community beyond. This support includes funds for the training of new Stephen Ministers, empowering congregation members to give personal support to other members in need. In addition, Trinity’s financial support strengthens other local congregations. For example, Local Outreach supported Philadelphia’s St. Mark’s Lutheran Church’s building fund, their program to feed the homeless, and a blanket drive. In addition, Local Outreach sponsored matching gifts to the Light a Candle Appeal for various center city ministries through the Lutheran Settlement House. In these ways, the Endowment Fund acknowledges our charge to reach out beyond ourselves to do God’s work.
