Hometown Hero Walk

The 7th Annual PA Hometown Hero Walk will take place on Saturday, May 12, rain or shine. Pre-registration will take place in Hyson Hall Sundays until April 15. All donations are greatly appreciated. Each walker who donates a minimum of $20.00 ($10.00 for youth) will receive a Pa. Hero Walk t-shirt if desired. Proceeds benefit needy PA veterans.

On Saturday, May 12, 2018, the one-hour walk begins and ends at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lansdale. The walk is hosted by Trinity, volunteers, and the Veterans Ministry. Donations raised are used to help Pennsylvania veterans of all ages who need assistance with housing, food, clothing, car repair, appliance purchase or repair, utility payment and auto purchase.

If veterans from all branches of service and eras need help, referral is made to their County Veterans Affairs Director or the website PAHEROWALK.com
Under the direction of CMSGT Dee Sullivan, the North Penn High Air Force Junior ROTC Cadet Color Guard will present the colors. The Red Hill Band will perform patriotic music prior to the walk. Jeanne Sorg of the Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds will be available to issue Montgomery County Veterans Cards to those veterans who have a copy of their DD-214.

Pre-registration for the walk will take place on Sundays from March 25 until April 15. Each walker who donates a minimum of $20 ($10 for a youth walker), if desired, can receive a Pa. Hero Walk t-shirt. Deadline to request a T-shirt is April 15. Donations can be in cash or by check payable to Pa. Hero Walk.

Check-in and walk-up registration on Saturday, May 12, starts at 8:30 am. Patriotic music will be provided by the Red Hill Band from 9 to 10 am. Presentation of the colors and short program will take place at 10 am.
The walk begins at 10:15 am.

Please bring your family, friends, and pets. If you cannot do the walk, we would love to have you come and support the walkers. Refreshments will be served in Hyson Hall after the walk.  Hopefully, this year we will have good weather. We can still see the happy huge smile on Pastor Glod’s face as she returned from the walk last year.
Never have I seen anyone so super saturated with rain despite her long, long rain coat and hat.
