All confirmed members of Trinity are invited to two Special Congregational Meetings for the purpose of amending our church’s Constitution. The first meeting will be held after
worship services on the weekend of January 13 and 14. We hope you will be able to attend.

The amendment calls for adjusting the size of Council from its current configuration of twelve lay members to a body of six lay members. This recommendation comes from the Council Implementation Team and is consistent with the work of previous study groups, namely the Leadership Way Point Team and Leadership Transition Team. Those groups have reported to the Council and Congregation in previous months.

Two congregational meetings are required to make this change. The second vote will be part of the agenda at the annual congregational meeting which will be held on January 28.

This is an exciting time in the story of Moving Trinity Forward as a lay-led congregation. The proposed new size of Council reflects a desire to create a governing body that will partner with the Ministry hubs, two of which have already started their work for our church. You are welcome to speak with members of Council as well as the Council Implementation Team regarding this proposed amendment. In addition, materials relative to the change are available at the Welcome Desk for your review.

Children are encouraged to stay with their parents during the meetings.
